Ideas To Create A Useful Promotional Calendar

Develop a Useful Design

Many companies hand out promotional calendars every year, so you want your calendar to be the one your customers decide to use. A useful design that targets your customers' needs is the way to achieve this.

One option is to opt for a pocket or planner-sized calendar instead of a wall calendar. This style works exceptionally well for appointment-based businesses, such as salons and medical providers. You can even write down the customer's next appointment in the calendar when you start handing them out so that they are more likely to continue using it.

Another option is a pocket calendar. These wall calendars have included pockets for each month so that users can stash coupons, receipts, or anything else they need in the appropriate month.

Include a Deal of the Month

A calendar is less likely to end up in the trash bin if it provides ongoing use to customers. Many people have moved to digital calendars, so you need to add something to your promotional calendar that keeps it useful.

A monthly deal is one such option. A different, seasonally appropriate deal can be placed on each monthly spread. You could also simply print different deals on fun days throughout the calendar. For example, a restaurant may offer $3.14 pies on Pi Day, or perhaps a percentage off discount on National Ice Cream Day for an ice cream parlor. Customers will enjoy finding these surprise deals scattered throughout their calendar.

Another option is to include tear-off coupons inside the calendar for each month. Make sure the coupons are for items your customers will actually need in the month or season that they are provided.

Highlight a Service or Product

Calendars can also be used to highlight the multiple products and services that you offer, especially if there is concern that your customer base may not be aware of everything that your business can do for them.

For example, a hardware store may want to highlight their garden tool rental service during the April or May planting season. You can use a combination of an attractive calendar image and verbiage to convey the content you want to forward that month.

You can further draw interest to the service you are highlighting by developing your discounts or coupons in the calendar so that they directly pertain to the specific highlights service.
