2 Kinds Of Insulation That You Can Choose From

When you are trying to insulate your house so that it will stay at the temperature you want, there are a lot of choices out there you can choose from.

Expandable Foam

One of the things that you can use to insulate your house is an expandable foam insulation. This insulation goes on as a thin layer of material, but then it expands out to fill up the available space. Once it's in place, it will harden and create a barrier that will prevent any leaks, gaps, or crevices. It will also help to make sure that your house will maintain the temperature you want in your house.

One nice thing about using an expandable foam insulation is that you can retrofit it into your house. You can just drill some holes in between the studs of your walls and put the nozzle in and spray the foam. Spray foam insulation also comes in cans that you can buy at a home improvement store so that you can use it to close up any small gaps or leaks. You may have to trim the foam down some once it hardens so that it sits flush with the walls or so that you can close the opening back up, but that is generally pretty easy to do. You just have to get a saw or knife and level it off.

Fiberglass Insulation

Fiberglass bats are pretty commonly used insulation. The bats come in wide rolls in a variety of widths that can be then cut into the right length to fit in between the floors and ceilings of the room as well as in between the studs of the walls. Fiberglass insulation can be a really good insulation, but it's hard to retrofit into a house unless you are already doing other renovation work. That's because the walls have to be physically opened in order to place the insulation inside, and then you will need to re-cover the walls with drywall or siding. So, if you are just needing to add in some insulation, fiberglass bats may not be the best option for you.

If you are trying to add insulation to your house, there are all kinds of choices out there. Not all of them will fit in with your needs or work for your house, so you will need to make sure that you take a good look at everything.
